Discover revolutionary French craftsmanship with Aigle – master shoe and boot makers since 1853.
Founded in 1853 by American businessman Hiram Hutchinson, this accomplished footwear company has been revolutionising rubber craftsmanship and bootmaking ever since. Hutchinson acquired the licence to the then newly-developed vulcanization process; a process that transforms rubber to withstand variations in temperature. With it, the rubber boot was born.
Since then, Aigle has mastered the art of bootmaking and protected us from the elements with innovative, durable footwear. Aigle are behind some of the most innovative features; walk further than ever with specially-designed anti-fatigue soles, and stay warm and insulated with their neoprene linings.
Aigle continues to hand craft their boots in France, passing on a legacy and their unique know-how. Over 220 master bootmakers work by hand on each pair, expertly shaping the rubber and bringing each boot to life. There is close attention to detail during every stage of the manufacturing process, assuring the finest quality.
Every pair of boots is subjected to sixty meticulous steps, as well as the most stringent waterproofing tests. Whether caught in the rain, jumping in a puddle or wading through water, they’re sure to keep you dry.
