Toscana

Toscana here refers to a breed of sheep initially from the Mediterranean, in particular Tuscany. The breed has shorter, finer, wispy like wool hair, lighter and softer than other types of sheep. As the wool is not as abundant like breeds from colder climes it was not used for wool as much. Instead, the hides taken as a by-product from sheep farming, were often used to make a quality sheepskin or lambskin fleeces.
